Pure innocence

Hi dear crafty friends! I hope you had a wonderful week end, it was rainy here in Huntsville, just the perfect weather to spend crafting. (wink).
I've wanted to play at My Favorite Things Challenge Get Sketchy for a long time, and I've just found the perfect sketch to do it!
And here is my card.

This is the fist time time I'm using this Pure Innocence stamp, and went back to the basics and paper pieced that sweet image. Remember the old days when we didn't have matching dies and we have to use scissors for everything? I had so much fun doing it today. All the papers are from Lawn Fawn.
Have a blessed rest of the week! Thanks for visiting!

Latte thanks!

Hi everybody! I'm back, after a long spring/summer hiatus, and it feels so good!
Even though I haven't posted anything in a long time, I was crafting as usual, but in a more relaxed way, as we traveled  frequently, mostly camping.

So today I'm taking part in Chaitali's Coffee Lovers blog hop. I took the inspiration for my card from the sketch at the Fusion Challenge. I had several ideas in mind but I decided to make a shakers card, and the shakers inside are... you guessed it, coffee grounds, yay!, it smells so good! I used the cup die that came in this month's kit of the month from Simon Says Stamps (so timely!). For the back panel I used brown Bazzil card-stock and stamped and clear embossed a sentiment from the stamp set in the same kit.

This was fun! I'm so ready to keep playing. Have a wonderful National Coffee Day coffee lovers.
Thanks for visiting! Have a blessed week.

Happy Birthday

Hello dear crafty friends! I can't believe it's been almost a month from the last time I posted. It's been a busy time. I got a promotion at work and now I have to work 40 hours a week, that means less free time for crafting.
Anyway, I did some cards, I just didn't have time to take pictures and post.
I made this card yesterday, using loosely the sketch at CAS(E) this sketch # 70.

Have a blessed week!

Fun on Saturday

Hello crafty friends! I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
It's around 70 degrees now in Huntsville, feeling like spring already, yes!
I spent a little time in my craft room yesterday and I made a card using my goodies from the Simon Says Stamp March kit that I got yesterday morning, just in time!
I used the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch # 66 and the colors for the CAS-ual Fridays 129 challenge.

I used paper from Lawn Fawn and the stamp from the kit. To make the rainbow I used two strands of each color of embroidery floss, the cloud and sequins complete my little "scene".
I'have more ideas using this sketch so I'll probably be back later.
Thanks for visiting!

Happy birthday

Hi there sweet crafty friends!
I always tell my husband and non crafty friends, that the crafty community is the best!
I'm not a regular blogger (that's not news for you, right?). I make cards all the time, but not always have the time to post them. I had some encouraging comments in my post yesterday, so I decided to share another quilting related card, that I made for a friend who is an accomplished quilter and love everything purple. I cased this card from a Stampin' Up demonstrator "Stampingjill", she has a great tutorial here, I  changed the size and I  used a different  embossing folder.

I'm linking this one to "Curtain Call" challenge.
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed week.

Thinking of you, thanks and hello.

Hi there crafty friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
The weather in Huntsville is gorgeous, sunny and around 68 degrees, sunny days make me happy! Yesterday was similar and even though we spent a lot of time outside I managed to make two cards.
For the first one I used this  "Freshly made Sketches # 124"  sketch .

All the papers I used in this card are by Crate paper. I paper pieced the flower and leaves, and put some white dots in the center and some stripes on the petals using a white gel pen. I haven't done a square card in a long time, and I'm happy with the result. This is going to a friend from church whose mom has terminal cancer.

I think I shared before that besides card making I have other hobbies, one of them is hand embroidery, I love playing with fabric and colors, and I also love quilting, although to learn how to quilt is still in my bucket's list. Navigating blog land this week I found the Cozy Quilt  challenge at Curtain Call and I decided to have some fun, so I made this card.

I used a Fiskars punch to cut the hexagons and all the paper is by Basic Grey "Paper Cottage" collection. The word thanks is by Simon Says Stamps and the button is a Martha Stewart's punch.
ETA I'm also linking this card to a new (to me) challenge called Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

And last, but not least I want to share another card that I made last weekend, that I sent to a crafty friend, using some goodies that I got from the sweet and super talented blogger Taheera.

I cut the word hello 5 times from white card stock, attached one on top the each layer and colored it with distress ink.
Thanks for your visit, have a wonderful week!

You can do anything.

Hello crafty friends!
I hope all of you are having a wonderful week. In spite of the cold, we have a beautiful sunny day in Huntsville. I wanted to share a card I made for a dear friend who is going back to work after many years of being a stay at home mom.
I used this awesome sketch at CAS(E) this sketch # 60.

Instead of a vertical panel for my card I used a die cut flower by Memory box, that I cut 4 times, I embossed in gold one layer and then adhered to two pieces, I adhered the forth a little to the side to give it a shadow effect. I used 'Worn lipstick' distressed ink for the sentiment panel and for the background. I'm very inspired by Donna, love how she does the inking of her die cuts or panels, so I'm practicing. (smile).
Thanks for your visit! Have a blessed rest of the week!

I'm back!

Hi there, crafty friends! I'm back, yay! So happy to be here. Last month I was so busy, my husband had knee replacement surgery and between hospital and rehab it took over half of the month, then Christmas, and there was no time for me to blog. Besides, I'm a slow crafter... but I did manage to send all the Christmas cards on time, some birthdays cards (not so on time) and of course visit many blogs.
I wanted to play with some challenges, so today I made several cards. I'm sharing two today,  for a couple from our Church, both have birthdays just few days apart. I used the sketch at  Freshly Made Sketches # 119 (which I just realized, it's closed to link), but I'm sure I'll be using it again as I like it so much.

And here is my card

The change in the sketch was my mistake when I adhered the panel, but I liked it so, I went with it. The cardbase cardstock is Bazzil, the light blue is a Christmas paper by American Crafts and the red stripes is the border of the same paper. (I love when I can use everything). The stamp is Simon Says Stamps that came with the November kit.

Thanks for your visit! Have a blessed week.
