Thinking of you, thanks and hello.

Hi there crafty friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
The weather in Huntsville is gorgeous, sunny and around 68 degrees, sunny days make me happy! Yesterday was similar and even though we spent a lot of time outside I managed to make two cards.
For the first one I used this  "Freshly made Sketches # 124"  sketch .

All the papers I used in this card are by Crate paper. I paper pieced the flower and leaves, and put some white dots in the center and some stripes on the petals using a white gel pen. I haven't done a square card in a long time, and I'm happy with the result. This is going to a friend from church whose mom has terminal cancer.

I think I shared before that besides card making I have other hobbies, one of them is hand embroidery, I love playing with fabric and colors, and I also love quilting, although to learn how to quilt is still in my bucket's list. Navigating blog land this week I found the Cozy Quilt  challenge at Curtain Call and I decided to have some fun, so I made this card.

I used a Fiskars punch to cut the hexagons and all the paper is by Basic Grey "Paper Cottage" collection. The word thanks is by Simon Says Stamps and the button is a Martha Stewart's punch.
ETA I'm also linking this card to a new (to me) challenge called Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

And last, but not least I want to share another card that I made last weekend, that I sent to a crafty friend, using some goodies that I got from the sweet and super talented blogger Taheera.

I cut the word hello 5 times from white card stock, attached one on top the each layer and colored it with distress ink.
Thanks for your visit, have a wonderful week!

  1. I love how you broke up the floral image across the three panels. It's so pretty! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!

  2. Great cards, Loly! I especially love the quilt one & would never have guessed the button is a punch! PS--you can post a picture of the card you sent for the Flickr Valentine exchange here

  3. Your hexagon quilt is fabulous. Thanks for joining us at The Curtain Call.

  4. Gorgeous cards! I love that pretty bold flower - it looks fabulous spread over the three panels! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

  5. Wow, lots of eye candy today Loly! Love them all! Quilting is on my "to do" list also, love your hexie card!
Thanks for playing with us at Curtain Call:)

  6. All three cards are lovely for their own reasons. I am a fancier of quilts (done a few in my time, but not recently) and so I think the quilt inspired card has to be my favorite. The colors are so joyful and bright- they should really encourage your recipients. So good to see some works from you, Loly!

  7. I need to remember to try the stacking of the die cuts! I love the dimension! Beautiful cards!

  8. Awesome to see these three cards here, Loly! Great idea to break up the design into panels on your first card. The gradient coloring on your hello is so pretty too!

  9. Thank you so much for joining my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge for February with your lovely card - hope to see you again soon. x

  10. OHHHHHHH! I love the hexagon card-- super beautiful! LOVE the patterns and design! And that hello card is FABULOUS! LOVE how you've created the mix of colors and that you layered your die several times-- I really need to try that:)

THANKS so much for stopping by my blog and leaving love <3 You made my day :)
