Join in the fun every day at taheerah-atchia.com to see what special surprises wait behind the door!

I made a card today, kind of following the concept of finding a surprise every day we open the door for each day's calendar. Its a gate fold card, the exterior is very simple,  with a not so simple closing and a hidden message inside.

All the papers are Lawn Fawn and the die cuts for the sentiments are Spellbinders, the inside sentiment is by Stampin Up! (old).

It’s not a party without a prize - and with prizes every day there are several chances to win! Today’s prize is generously supplied by Butterfly Reflections Ink so you’ll definitely want to get your hands on it! Simply leave a comment on this post to enter - then head back to taheerah-atchia.com and leave a comment there too to double your chances! Don’t forget to grab the other surprise destinations from Taheerah’s blog and head over to them to leave comments there as well to improve your odds even more! You have until 7am EST on Thursday 31st December to leave all your comments!

Warm Winter Wishes + Giveaway

Hi crafty friends!
I hope you are enjoying your Holiday Season! I am still in the process of finishing the cards I need to send. But today I'm sharing a special card that I made for the Winter/Holiday-coffee-lovers-blog-hop.
I'm arriving late to the party, but it's always oh so fun!
So here is my card.

For the background I used a paper I got last Jan in a Simon Says Stamps card kit, the main image is by Lawn Fawn and the die I used to cut the snow bank is also by Lawn Fawn. To finish it up I just added some snowflake sequins. I colored the imaged with Zig clean color real brush markers. To blend the colors I used Wink of Stella and to finish up the cup I covered it with glossy accent.
To celebrate the blog hop and the season I'm giving away a Starbucks gift card.
Thanks for your visit and have a blessed week!

ETA I'm also adding this card to Choux Choux Paper

More Holiday Style

Hello Crafty friends!
I have another card for my On Line Card Class. This time is for day 7 "
Shimmer & Shine Cards".

To create the background I used embossing paste with the SSS stencil "Falling snow" and then covered it with white glitter. My glitter tray had some green glitter residue that I left there on purpose, so you might  see the soft  green tint in it. The sentiment is by SSS and the Poinsettia is by Spellbinders. I added Wink of Stella to the Poinsettia.

To finish it up I added some sequins and red stickles to the border, a trick that I learned from Julie Eversole here.

I'm also adding this card to Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp, Simon Says Christmas.

Thanks for visiting! Have a blessed rest of the day!

Holiday Style

Hi dear crafty friends!
I'm taking an online class called Holiday Style, and enjoying every minute of it!
I'm always slow with the homework, but as I didn't work today, I had some time to play with my inks and stamps, and I want to share my card with you all, (I imagine most of us are frantically creating Christmas cards).
So, on day 2 of class the teachers gave us lots of beautiful inspiration on clean and simple cards. Mine was inspired by this  card by Kristina Werner.

So here you have it. If I have to make this card again I would use a white or silver embossing powder for the sentiment to create a better contrast. I used distress inks for the background and then spritzed water with perfect pearls and it gave a beautiful shimmer to it. The sentiment is by Stampin Up! and the main image is by Stampendous.
Thanks for visiting, have a blessed rest of the week.

Hi there crafty friends!
Both of my stepdaughters have birthdays this month, in fact, for 20 days every year they are the same age! So I want to share today the card I made for the youngest one, whose birthday is today!
I'm also sharing this cards at Jennifer McGuire's blog as part of her campaign Share Handmade Kindness.
